Everything You Need to Know
Treatment Overview
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a regenerative treatment that uses a concentrated portion of your own blood to support your skin's natural healing and renewal processes.
A small amount of blood is drawn and processed to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma. The PRP is then strategically injected into the treatment area based on your individual needs.
PRP may be used to improve overall skin quality, fine lines, texture, and areas of volume or structural concern while supporting natural collagen production over time.
Because PRP works by stimulating your body's own regenerative processes, results develop gradually rather than creating the immediate volume associated with traditional dermal fillers.
Treatment Time: Approximately 45–60 minutes
Downtime: Typically minimal; temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising may occur
Results: Develop gradually over the weeks and months following treatment
Your Treatment Plan
PRP can be performed as a single treatment or as a series, depending on your goals and the area being treated.
For patients beginning PRP or looking for more comprehensive rejuvenation, your provider may recommend a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart. Once your initial treatment plan is complete, periodic maintenance treatments may be recommended.
Your provider will determine the appropriate amount of PRP, injection technique, treatment areas, and recommended number of sessions based on your individual needs.
What to Expect
At your appointment, a small amount of your blood will be drawn and processed to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma.
Once prepared, the PRP is strategically injected into the planned treatment areas. Because the treatment uses material derived from your own blood, no traditional dermal filler is being injected.
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, pinpoint bleeding, or bruising can occur following treatment. Your provider will review your aftercare instructions and let you know when you can resume your normal skincare and other treatments.
